Siddharth Anand compares Pathan to Hollywood superhero films, reveals he’s not even a fan of the genre – Times of India

The flavor of the season, Siddharth Anand’s magnum opus Pathan is breaking box office records one after the other. The film is all set to become one of the biggest hits ever in Bollywood Shahrukh KhanDeepika Padukone and John Abraham are in lead roles.

With such high-octane stunts and gravity-defying action sequences, needless to say, the film is being compared to Hollywood biggies James Bond, Mission Impossible, Fast & Furious and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, in a conversation with Gulf News, Siddharth revealed that he is not a big fan of the genre, so he is not even sure if there is any overlap, as he has only seen a few films in that genre.

Elaborating on the same the filmmaker said that in comparison with West It’s inevitable when you make a film that doesn’t fit into the run-of-the-mill Bollywood genre. However, Siddharth was quick to add that unlike the West, we also have budget limitations, which makes it challenging to produce a quality product like Pathan. The producer also said that it is not him, but his 16-year-old son, who is a big fan of the genre and often walks him through his scripts to tell him what is right and what should be kept out.

Pathan has earned around Rs 350 crore domestically and over Rs 635 crore worldwide.
