Some Govt Officers Acting Like Bjd Workers, Claims Aparajita | – Times of India

Bhubaneswar: City MP and BJP national spokesperson Aparajita Sarangi on Monday said around five to six bureaucrats in Odisha are currently under scrutiny for behaving like BJD workers, drawing a sharp response from ruling party leader Pradeep Majhi, who said she is trying to intimidate public servants because of her own frustration.
Speaking to the media, Sarangi said the officers should not forget that their services have been placed at the disposal of the government of Odisha, not at the disposal of BJD.
“There are four to six such officers. I would like to request them to refrain from functioning in a manner similar to BJD workers and instead, fulfill their duties in accordance with the provisions of the constitution,” the Bhubaneswar MP said.
She also questioned why district collectors of Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj have not been transferred for the past five years. Mayurbhanj district collector Vineet Bhardwaj had recently landed in a controversy for wearing a T-shirt with a photograph of Naveen Patnaik printed on it during an event in the district.
Sarangi had also posted about it on social media. “Very unfortunate as well as ridiculous! Collector, Mayurbhanj, Odisha! Degeneration of the official standards to this extent.”
BJD leader Majhi said Sarangi is targeting government officers because she is frustrated with the ruling party’s rising popularity and her own bleak political future.
“Officers are doing their duties. People continue to bless BJD because of Naveen Patnaik’s welfare activities,” Majhi said.
Responding to Sarangi’s tweet on the Mayurbhanj collector, BJD Rajya Sabha member and spokesperson Sasmit Patra said there was noting wrong in it.
