New Delhi: Congress chief Sonia Gandhi He has been discharged from Delhi’s Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, where he was admitted with post-Covid related problems.
Party spokesperson Jairam Ramesh announced his discharge on Twitter on Monday evening.
He was admitted to Delhi’s Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and was treated for lower respiratory tract infection and post-coid symptoms.
Sonia’s son and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi appeared before the Enforcement Directorate for the fourth time today for questioning in the National Herald case.
The ED had also called Sonia for questioning on June 23, but could not appear due to health reasons.
Sonia and Rahul Gandhi are among the promoters and majority shareholders of Young Indian Pvt Ltd. Like his son Rahul, the Congress President also has 38 per cent stake.
BJP leader Subramanian Swamy had accused Gandhi and others of conspiracy to commit fraud and misappropriation of funds, with Young Indian Pvt Ltd paying only Rs 50 lakh to Congress to get the right to recover Rs 90.25 crore.
In February last year, the Delhi High Court issued notice to the Gandhi family for its response to Swamy’s plea, seeking to produce evidence in the case before the trial court.
The Gandhi family had secured separate bail in 2015 after furnishing a personal bond of Rs 50,000 and one surety.
However, he had argued in the High Court that Swamy’s plea was “wrong and premature”.
The other accused in the case filed by Swamy are close aides of the Gandhi family- Suman Dubey and technocrat Sam Pitroda. He has denied any wrongdoing.
