A few days after his acquittal, Sooraj Pancholi visited the Bangla Sahib Gurdwara in New Delhi to seek blessings.
Last week, a special CBI court acquitted actor Sooraj Pancholi, accused of abetting the suicide of his then girlfriend and actress Jiah Khan, citing ‘lack of evidence’. Jiah was found dead on 3 June 2013 at her Juhu home in Mumbai. She was 25 years old. Based on a letter seized a week later, allegedly written by him, the Mumbai Police booked Sooraj under section 306 (abetment of suicide) and arrested him. He was later released on bail. After his acquittal, Sooraj Pancholi visited the Siddhivinayak temple to seek blessings. Now the actor was spotted at Gurudwara Bangla Sahib in Delhi, days after being cleared of all charges.
On Wednesday, Sooraj Pancholi shared some pictures from inside the premises of Bangla Sahib Gurdwara in New Delhi on his Instagram handle. The actor wore a casual blue T-shirt and blue denim jeans and was seen with folded hands in front of Gurudwara Talab. While his post only carried a ‘folded hands’ emoji in the caption, several celebs dropped comments, including Arbaaz Khan’s girlfriend Giorgia Andriani.
Giorgio Andriani responded with a biceps emoji. One fan wrote, ‘So happy for you friend! The film industry is revolving around jealousy and filth! You deserve something better for yourself Suraj!” Another commented,
“May Waheguru ji shower his blessings on you!” Someone else said, “Your name always in my prayers!” A fan also said, “Hope to see you in the movies soon! (with fire emoji)”.
Bollywood actress Jiah Khan was found dead on June 3, 2013 at her Juhu home. A six-page suicide note allegedly written by him was recovered. The letter reportedly described her “intimate relationship, physical abuse and mental and physical torture” at the hands of Sooraj, which allowed her to make the decision.
It was said that she was cheated and abused and he also raped her, after which she had to undergo an abortion. He was also arrested but was later released on bail. After Jiah’s bail, Jiah’s mother moved the Bombay High Court seeking transfer of the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The central probe agency filed a charge sheet in December 2015 in which they accused Sooraj of abetment to suicide under section 306 of the Indian Penal Code.
