Spam calls and SMS stopped from today: AI trial of service provider companies to identify unwanted calls successful

Unwanted call-messages will no longer come. All the three major network service providers of the country, Jio, Airtel and Vodafone-Idea have installed filters in their system to prevent spam calls. Companies claim that with the help of AI, spam messages and calls will be blocked on the network itself.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRAI) had given the companies a deadline of 30 April. A senior TRAI official told that the trial run of the companies has been successful. In simple words till now we come to know after receiving the call that it was spam call. Then we block it. Now he will already be blocked on the network and the call will not reach us.

Biggest question: Such efforts have failed, how many will be successful this time?
TRAI had started DND (Do Not Disturb) service earlier also. Even after taking this service from the companies, spam calls and messages kept coming to the consumers. On this, a TRAI official said- It is true that spam call-messages continued to come even after DND service, but there was a huge reduction in their number. The DND service did not have a call blocking system on the network itself. But, now it is easy to block spam calls.

Will spam stop altogether?
Yes, that is what it seems now. For the first few days or weeks, there may be complaints that spam calls have not stopped coming. Technical glitches are possible, but can be removed. It is sure that there will definitely be a reduction in spam calls or messages by up to 90%.

What are the problems with blocking spam calls?
Some people contact bank or financial organization through website or email for credit card or personal loan etc. But don’t logout after the talk is over. They get more spam calls. But, now it is certain that people who have logged out or have not taken information about any service, then spam calls coming to their numbers can be identified by AI.

If someone forgets to logout…
Work on this is also going on. Through double filtration, those numbers can also be blocked, which were not logged out. The trial of this technology has not started yet.
