SS Karthikeya, Rajamouli and team experience earthquake scare during their visit for a special ‘RRR’ screening in Japan | – Times of India

Director SS Rajamouli, accompanied by his son Karthikeya and producer Shobu Yarlagadda, recently had a special trip to Japan for a screening of their blockbuster film ‘RRR‘. While in Japan, Karthikeya shared a startling experience on X, revealing their encounter with an earthquake during their stay. Despite this incident, the locals remained unfazed, leaving Karthikeya amazed at their calm attitude amidst the tremors.
SS Karthikeya wrote, “Felt a freaking earthquake in Japan just now!!!
Was on the 28th floor and slowly the ground started to move and took us a while to realise it was an earthquake.I was just about to panic but all the Japanese around did not budge as if it just started to rain!! Experience an earthquake box ticked”.

Following the screening of ‘RRR’ in Japan, the trio engaged with fans during their visit, showcasing the enduring popularity of the film even two years after its release.
During their time in Japan, Rajamouli encountered a heartwarming gesture from a special fan who gifted him 1,000 origami cranes, along with a heartfelt note expressing gratitude for bringing joy through ‘RRR’. The significance of the origami cranes as symbols of luck and good health in Japanese culture added a touch to the gesture, leaving Rajamouli deeply moved by the elderly woman’s heartfelt gesture.

Reflecting on the encounter, Rajamouli expressed his gratitude for the thoughtful gift, emphasizing that some gestures are beyond repayment and serve as reminders of the profound impact of cinema on people’s lives.
Directed by SS Rajamouli and starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead, ‘RRR’ not only garnered acclaim in India but also received international recognition, including an Oscar for the Best Original Song ‘Naatu Naatu’. The film’s continued resonance with audiences worldwide underscores its enduring impact and widespread admiration.

Currently, the makers are busy with the preparations of their next mega project, working with Mahesh Babu tentatively called, ‘SSMB29’. The movie is in its pre-production phase. It is expected to be a jungle adventure thriller.
