Sunny Deol reveals many actresses refused to do a mother’s role in ‘Apne 2’: ‘Now they might agree’ | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Sunny Deol‘s ‘Gadar 2‘ released on Friday, ahead of Independence Day and the film is getting some exceptional response from the audience. While it seems like a celebration time at single screen theatres, most multiplexes are also going housefull. ‘Gadar 2’ has crossed the 100-crore mark in its first three days and just the Sunday number is more than Rs 50 crore.

Clearly then, ‘Gadar 2’ is on its way to record history just like its first part did, 22 years ago.

Sunny is quite happy but this success led to curiousity for the sequels of his other movies. The actor was asked about ‘Apne 2′, ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana 2’ and ‘Gadar 3’ at a press conference today to celebrate the success of ‘Gadar 2’. Reacting to this, Sunny said, “I know that everyone is waiting for these movies. Our whole family came together in Yamla Pagla Deewanan and people laughed, enjoyed the movie. Everyone’s now wanting a second part but for that, the story is very important. As of now, I don’t have the right story for it. We can only start once I do.”
Talking about ‘Apne 2’, Sunny revealed that many actresses have refused to play mothers in the film, but now post the success of ‘Gadar 2’, they might agree. “For ‘Apne 2’, I have a very beautiful story. It’s the extension of the family values we had in the first part. Mujhe lagta hai kuch actresses thi joh maa ka role karne se manaa kar rahi thi, shayad ab karengi. There were some actresses who refused to play a mother’s role on-screen. They might agree now,” laughed Sunny.
‘Apne’ starred Sunny with Bobby Deol, Dharmendra. It also had Shilpa Shetty and Katrina Kaif. The sequel will reportedly star Karan Deol as well.
