Support TN’s growth, Stalin appeals to Tamils in Spain | Chennai News – Times of India

CHENNAI: Chief minister M K Stalin has appealed to Tamils living in Spain to extend support for the growth of Tamil Nadu.
In an interaction with members of the Tamil Diaspora in Spain on Sunday, Stalin assured that the DMK government would take all measures to help Tamils living abroad.
“You have been extending all possible help for your motherland Tamil Nadu. I appeal to you to continue extending that support,” Stalin told them. At the same time, the Tamil Nadu government would provide the necessary support to the Tamils living abroad, Stalin said.
“We invited diaspora Tamils to Chennai and held meetings with them. We listened to the problems they are facing and resolved those problems,” Stalin said. Late chief minister M Karunanidhi had constituted a body to help diaspora Tamils, support them in the eventuality of a disaster. But that body could not continue functioning as the DMK government was dismissed back then, Stalin said.
“Now, the Dravidian model government has assumed office in Tamil Nadu. We are waiting to execute the vision of Kalaignar,” he said. Recalling the global investors meet held in Chennai recently, Stalin said the state government had attracted several crores of investments to Tamil Nadu from across the world. “This would make Tamils living abroad proud too,” he said.
In the interaction titled ‘Spain Tamizharkaludan Muthalvar’ (Chief minister with Tamils in Spain), Stalin said though he had visited several countries, he felt moved by the reception given by the Tamils there.
