Suspected case of monkeypox returned to Kuwait in Telangana India News – Times of India

Hyderabad: A 40-year-old man, who returned from abroad in Kamareddy district Telanganahas shown Symptoms of monkeypox, state health officials said on Sunday. He said the patient is being shifted to the Government Fever Hospital here.

The man was admitted to a private hospital in Kamareddy district after he developed a rash on July 23, state public health director G Srinivasa Rao said in a release.
Rao said the doctor at the private hospital after seeing symptoms of monkeypox referred the person to the government hospital in Kamareddy district and from there the patient was being taken to the fever hospital here.
After taking the sample from the patient, it will be sent to NIV Pune and till then the patient will be kept in the isolation ward.
“We have identified six people who were in contact with the person. Although they do not have any symptoms, they have also been kept in isolation.
The health official said Telangana Health Minister T Harish Rao reviewed the situation and based on his instructions all necessary measures are being taken.
