Tcs Rolls Out 100% Variable Pay For Junior Employees | Bengaluru News – Times of India

Bengaluru: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced that junior employees with a minimum of 4 years of experience, falling under the C2 grade, will receive a variable pay of 100%. Milind Lakkad, its chief human resources officer, communicated via email that the variable pay for employees above the C2 grade will be determined by the performance of their respective business units.The Times of India has reviewed the communication sent to employees.
TCS has consistently provided 100% variable pay to its junior employees over the past few quarters. The company has also announced salary increments ranging from 4.5% to 7% for its employees, with top performers receiving double-digit raises. In the note, referring to senior employees, Lakkad emphasized the importance of creating a positive work environment where everyone can excel. He stated, “Remember, your teams learn by observing you — how you solve challenging problems, your attention to detail and hands-on approach.”
Regarding hiring plans, Lakkad mentioned during an investor call that TCS intends to hire 40,000 freshers, although this number may vary based on demand. He said, “We have commenced freshers hiring from campuses and continue to recalibrate our record, focusing more on utilizing the capacity that we have built over the prior years. TCS organic talent development initiatives continue to deliver industry-leading outcomes.”
Year to date, TCS employees have completed 51 million learning hours and acquired 5 million competencies. The IT services’ attrition rate for the last twelve months was 12.5%, a decrease of 80 basis points sequentially and within the company’s comfort range of 11% to 13%.
