Teen pillion rider killed by truck while searching for missing sister | Thane News – Times of India

Thane: A 16-year-old boy riding pillion was killed while his 37-year-old relative who was riding the motorcycle suffered injuries after a speeding truck knocked them down on the busy Ghodbunder road, on Tuesday, officials informed. Kasarwadavli police, based on preliminary investigations informed that the Nashik-based teenager had come to the city with relatives in search of his missing sister.The family had left home late on Monday night in search of the victim’s sister who had gone missing from home.
The members were alerted that she was seen somewhere in Thane following which they rushed to the city, informed police.
“The teenager and his relative were riding a bike while their family members were following in a car. The incident occurred when the duo was waiting near the Anand Nagar signal when the truck driver lost control of his vehicle and rammed it into their bike,” Yasin Tadvi, in-charge at the Thane regional disaster management cell, said.
