As per PTI reports, 35 leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) led by CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, including former MP Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and former minister Jupalli Krishna Rao, joined the Congress at the AICC office in Delhi on Monday.
Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader formally joins Congress in presence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former party chief Rahul Gandhi, Party general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal and Congress’s Telangana unit chief A Revanth Reddy were also present in the meeting.
Reddy is a former Lok Sabha MP from Khammam, while Krishna Rao is a former minister from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and a five-time MLA.
Other leaders who joined the Congress include former six-time MLA Gurunath Reddy, former MLA and Zilla Parishad chairman Koram Kanakaiah, former MLA Payam Venkateswarlu, former District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) chairman Muvanth Vijaya Baby, current DCCB chairman Thulluri.
