Telangana has a rich history of 200 million years: KCR

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has said that Telangana has a rich history dating back to 20 crore years and asked historians to dig out its rich and glorious past.

He expressed these views after releasing five volumes of ‘Telangana History Book (Telangana Charitra Pustakam)’ at Pragati Bhavan here on Sunday. The book was published by Bharat Jagruti, a cultural organization run by MLC K. Kavita, the founder of Telangana Jagruti.

“It is a wonderful and proud feeling to find evidence of 200 million years old history. Understanding history and knowing about our past will help us understand the future better,” said Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao while congratulating historians and Ms. Kavita for their efforts in this regard.

Led by historian and author Sriramoju Haragopal, a large number of historians visited several sites across the state in the last six years and collected evidence of history, which is crores of years old. Historians explained to the Chief Minister how they studied fossils, scriptures, structures, coins and books.

Mr. Hargopal, Editor Vemuganti Murali Krishna, Telangana Foods President M. Rajeev Sagar and Bharat Jagruti General Secretary Rangu Naveen Achari were also present on the occasion.
