Telangana High Court notice to Union Secretary in contempt case Hyderabad News – Times of India

Hyderabad: Telangana The High Court on Friday issued notice to I a s PK Tripathi, officer and secretary of the Union Ministry of Personnel and Public Grievances, asked within two weeks to clarify his stand on why he did not implement the court order adjusting the seniority of five respected IAS officers from Telangana and Andra Pradesh,
A bench of Chief Justice Ujjwal Bhuyan and Justice S Nanda issued the notice while hearing a contempt case filed by five respected IAS officers – GSRKR. Vijay KumarKRBHN Chakraborty and M Girija Shankar from AP and G Kishan from Telangana cadre and retired IAS officer G Ravi Babu from Hyderabad.
He complains that due to inordinate delay in appointment to IAS through promotion, he lost his seniority of more than eight years.
The petitioners submitted that the promotion aspect comes after completing the cadre review which is done once in every five years. Though both the Central Administrative Tribunal and the High Court had earlier directed the officials, especially the Union Ministry, to re-adjust the seniority, this was not done. The petitioners were seeking only indicative seniority. “Due to the delay in conducting periodic cadre reviews, we did not get the IAS 1998 tag and instead, got it in 2008,” he argued.
