T’gana Couple Cheat Trader Of 20 Lakh | Surat News – Times of India

Surat: A couple from Telangana has been booked for cheating a plastic trader to the tune of Rs 20.27 lakh.
According to the case, Surat trader Sagar Singal had sold plastic sheets to Telangana-based Jaypal and Vatsala Reddy. The couple bought goods worth Rs 29.53 lakh but did not make payment of Rs 20.27 lakh.
In January 2022, Singal came in contact with Vatsala through business portal India Mart.After exchanging phone numbers, Vatsala talked to Singal and told him that her firm has a big plastic manufacturing unit and she needs raw materials. She also assured timely payment within 30 days after receiving each consignment.
Singal visited their unit, where Jaypal was director and Vatsala was proprietor. From March 2022 to July 2022, Singal sent them goods worth Rs 29.53 lakh through a cargo company. The couple paid Rs 9.26 lakh but after that they did not make any payment.
When Singal called them, they gave various excuses. Two months ago, Singal visited their unit in Telangana, but the couple allegedly threatened and abused him. They also allegedly asked Singal not to come again else he would be killed.
Salabatpura police have booked the couple for cheating and criminal intimidation. The FIR was filed on Tuesday under Sections 420, 504, 506 (2) and 114 of IPC.
