Thane: Police on Thursday said they have rescued three women who were allegedly forced into prostitution and arrested a female agent who was part of a prostitution racket in Maharashtra’s Thane city.

The agent was allegedly involved in pushing women into prostitution and was implicated after the police sent a fake customer. During the raid, three women were rescued and later shifted to a care center, the release said.
It said that a case has been registered against the arrested woman under relevant sections of IPC as well as Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA) at Naupada police station.
