The trailer kicked off with a Jedi master (played by Lee Jung Jae), teaching a group of Younglings about trust and life by meditation as a clocked assassin tried to kill him.

Actor Lee Jung Jae, who is popularly known for his role in the popular Korean series Squid Game, earlier announced that he will be seen in the Star Wars spinoff series The Acolyte. Recently, the makers of the much-awaited series unveiled its official trailer in which Jung Jae could be seen portraying the role of Jedi Master. The series will be streaming on the OTT platform Disney+ from June 4.

The trailer kicked off with a Jedi master (played by Jung Jae), teaching a group of Younglings about trust and life through meditation as a clocked assassin tried to kill a fellow Jedi. A group of Jedi thereafter begin a hunt across different galaxies for the killer before she kills them.

The upcoming show also stars Amandla Stenberg, Carrie-Anne Moss, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Many Jaccinto, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo and Rebecca Henderson in pivotal roles.

Taking to Instagram, Disney+ dropped the trailer that they captioned, “In an age of light, darkness rises. On June 4, don’t miss the two episode premiere of @officialacolyte, a Star Wars Original Series, only on DisneyPlus.”

As per Variety, The Acolyte takes place 100 years before the franchise’s prequel trilogy during the High Republic era of the Star Wars universe. An official logline for the series reveals, “An investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (played by Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems.”

Soon after the makers dropped the official trailer, excited fans swamped down the comment section and shared their reactions. A user wrote, “Dafe Keen is amazing!!!!”, another fan wrote, “I can’t wait finally some High Republic Stuff.”. A user wrote, “Can’t wait looks exciting.”

Meanwhile, Jung Jae will be next seen in the second season of Squid Game which will stream on the OTT platform Netflix.
