The Flash Review: Ezra Miller Stars in an Entertaining Superhero Movie With the Best Surprise

[This review contains minor spoilers]

We’ve seen the Marvel Cinematic Universe delve into the multiverse in various movies, and every superhero fanatic will agree that it’s always a bold move to attempt movies that explore different versions of the multiverse. And with The Flash, DC has finally arrived, and how! The Andy Muschietti film packs a dash of nostalgia for DC Comics with action, compelling storytelling, and even several superhero appearances that will surely get fans excited heading into theaters.

The film revolves around Ezra Miller, who is trying to deal with the death of his mother and the arrest of his father who is facing charges for her murder. However, when The Flash learns how he can travel back in time through the multiverse, he decides to change some things in his past and hopes to get his parents back. But as we know, if you use time travel in the multiverse, some things go wrong, and this is what happened. Miller travels back in time to a point where he lands in a parallel universe where his double character is 18, and has not yet received the lightning powers that make him the Flash.

Things take a complete U-turn when massive lightning strikes and the original Flash loses his powers, while 18-year-old Barry regains his powers. With great powers also come great enemies! In this parallel universe, the Flash witnesses the wrath of the supervillain General Zod, who was once defeated by Superman. Therefore, in order to defeat General Zod, the Flash must find The Batman and Superman in this parallel universe. And that’s where things get nostalgic and interesting. The legendary Michael Keaton returns as Batman, but this universe has a Supergirl, played by Sasha Calle.

Seeing Keaton take on the role of Bruce Wayne aka The Batman is a pure joy, but what makes it feel even better is how Muschietti blends in the older version of Batman with the current flavor of things. The vintage Bat Mobile and Bat Jet is something that will definitely give goosebumps to every Batman fan. Cale, who plays Supergirl, on the other hand, has a very brief role in the film, but certainly something that’s packed with back to back action scenes, and it’s safe to say the actor nailed every bit it. . Its.

The film gives a strong message that not every problem has a solution and there are things in life that you have to let go. It is the compelling story that forms the crux of the film and is beautifully presented by Muschietti. However, the surprises do not end here. There are two huge cameos in the film’s climax and post-credits scene. Overall, the film has opened up a diversity of possibilities for DC, and let’s hope the following films raise the stakes even higher.
