Thrissur: A tiger will be shifted from Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary Thrissur Zoological Parkcoming on Puthur near OllurSaturday gave a strong indication that this dream project is closer to reality.
The tiger named Vaiga was trapped inside Wayanad And first Neyyar was transferred. It will be the first animal to be shifted to the Thrissur Zoo, which is claimed to be the largest of its kind in Asia. another tiger, Durgawill be transferred from Neyyar also within a short time thereafter, r FameDirector of Thrissur Zoological Park.
He said both the tigers would be initially kept at ‘isolation and quarantine’ centers at Chandankunnu close to Puthur and would eventually be shifted to regular enclosures after monitoring their health.
The Rs 306 crore park will house 415 animals and birds of 67 species and will also include some rare categories.
