Announcing the verdict in favour of Jennifer Mistry, the court ordered Asit Kumarr Modi to clear her outstanding dues and further asked him to pay her Rs 5 lakh as compensation.

A day after it was revealed that Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fame Jennifer Mistry has won the sexual harassment case against Asit Kumarr Modi, the actress has now revealed that she will visit the police station once again. On Wednesday, Jennifer shared that she will visit Powai police station to push for the conversion of the FIR she filed against Asit Modi last year.

“The criminal case I initiated at Powai police station has seen no progress whatsoever. Tomorrow, I will be returning to the police station,” Jennifer told E-Times.

“Despite having visited three times in the past week alone, this time, accompanied by my lawyer, I will insist that the police file a charge sheet in my case. Regrettably, the officers handling my case have been reassigned. I refuse to remain silent; I demand action from the police in my case,” the actress added.

Jennifer further claimed that she was not the only one who faced sexual harassment on the sets of TMKOC. “Why do you think more girls won’t speak out? It baffles me. I know many who’ve faced harassment but remain silent out of fear; it’s truly disheartening,” she argued.

Announcing the verdict in favour of Jennifer, the court ordered Asit Kumarr Modi to clear her outstanding dues and further asked him to pay her Rs 5 lakh as compensation. However, Jennifer has now said that she did not file a case against Modi for “monetary compensation”. “I didn’t file this case for monetary compensation. Initially, I didn’t even consider my remuneration. It’s only now, upon the advice of friends, that I’ve pursued it. They asked, ‘Why let go of your hard-earned money?’,” she said.

Jennifer Mistry used to play the role of Mrs Roshan Sodhi in TMKOC. However, she left the show in 2023 and later filed a complaint against Asit Kumarr Modi, the show’s Project Head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj for alleged sexual harassment at the workplace. The three were booked under sections 354 and 509 (Assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

On Tuesday, Jennifer confirmed winning the case when she revealed that the court verdict was out on February 15, 2024. However, no punishment has been given to Sohail Ramani and Jatin Bajaj.
