Earlier this week, Jennifer Mistry confirmed winning the sexual harassment case against the TMKOC maker Asit Kumarr Modi.

Days after Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fame Jennifer Mistry won the sexual harassment case against Asit Kumarr Modi, the actress visited the Powai police station in Mumbai on Saturday. Jennifer issued a video statement and shared that she pushed for the conversion of the FIR she filed against Asit Modi last year.

Jennifer claimed that TMKOC makers are now alleging that she hasn’t won any case against Modi. “Vo bol rahe main koi faltu se women’s group ke paas gayi thi aur waha par aisa bol diya gaya. Toh mera ye kehna hain ki faltu ke women’s group ke paas aapke producer itne important, itne bade producer, do baar hearing ke liye chale gaye sab kaam chhod ke? Kamaal hain,” she said.

The actress further stated that she has given an ‘ultimatum’ to the police officials to file a chargesheet against Modi and went on to say that she might go on a strike if action is not taken against the TMKOC maker. “Maine unko ultimatum diya ki agar aapne jaldi nahi kiya ye chargesheet ka kaam, toh mujhe bhi nahi pata main kya karungi. Ho sakta hain yaha par jab Draupadi Murmu ji aa rahi hain main dharna lekar baith jau,” she added.

Jennifer Mistry used to play the role of Mrs Roshan Sodhi in TMKOC. However, she left the show in 2023 and later filed a complaint against Asit Kumarr Modi, the show’s Project Head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj for alleged sexual harassment at the workplace. The three were booked under sections 354 and 509 (Assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Earlier this week, Jennifer confirmed winning the case when she revealed that the court verdict was out on February 15, 2024. Announcing the verdict in favour of Jennifer, the court ordered Asit Kumarr Modi to clear her outstanding dues and further asked him to pay her Rs 5 lakh as compensation. However, no punishment was given to Sohail Ramani and Jatin Bajaj.
