1. The Election Commission continues to examine the applications for the remaining five constituencies which remained incomplete yesterday. total on friday Nomination papers of 3044 candidates were found correct In 219 assembly constituencies of Karnataka. among others, it nomination accepted Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President DK Shivakumar for the Kanakapura Assembly, the candidate about whom had expressed some apprehensions. Scrutiny of nomination papers is yet to be completed in Savadatti-Yellamma, Aurad, Haveri (SC), Raichur and Shivajinagar. Monday is the last date for withdrawal of nominations. After the scrutiny is over, most of the candidates will now work hard on the campaign trail.

2. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is in Karnataka to oversee preparations for the May 10 elections, will hold several meetings. He is particularly demanding handling of the insurgency by Lingayat leaders.

c) Violin recital by Pranavi G, 5.15 pm; Harikatha by Vishakha Hari and party at Sri Vani Vidya Kendra, Basaveshwara Nagar, from 6.30 pm onwards.
