‘2018 Everyone is a Hero’ Box Office: The Tovino Thomas-starrer is enjoying a dream run at the ticket windows and is inching towards the Rs 100 crore milestone globally, a rare feat for any Malayalam film. Directed by award-winning filmmaker, Jude Anthony Joseph, the film is being touted as the “real Kerala story” as it depicts the triumph of humanity over adversity in the backdrop of the 2018 Kerala floods. Its worldwide collection is said to be Rs 87-88 crores in the first 11 days of release and it is moving towards 100 crores club. The film is getting standing ovation at the theaters and the audience is loving it.
This is the second Tovino project after 2021 superhero film ‘Minnal Murali’ to garner national attention and appreciative response from the audience. And it also brings back memories of his performance in ‘Virus’, the 2019 film about the Nipah outbreak in Kerala.

The film, which released on 5 May, collected around Rs 5.18 crore from Kerala alone on its ninth day, which is an all-time record in Mollywood history. About ‘2018 Everyone is a Hero’
Tovino, incidentally, volunteered his services for flood relief in 2018. In the film, he plays a young man who deserts the Indian Army with a fake medical certificate and rescues himself during a flood. The ensemble cast includes top Malayalam talents, notably Asif Ali, Kunchacko Boban, Lal and National Award-winning actress, Aparna Balamurali, who plays a TV reporter.
