Parked trucks, illegal cuts, lack of road infra: What triggers crashes on KMP
Gurgaon’s KMP expressway faces frequent fatal accidents due to various reasons including truck parking, absence of rest areas, theft of crash barriers, and traffic violations. Recently, two businessmen died in a multi-vehicle pile-up near the KMP toll plaza. The expressway witnesses a high volume of traffic, mostly from truckers and long-distance travelers. The lack of rest areas and presence of illegal eateries further contribute to road safety issues. The authorities are urged to implement safety measures such as speed cameras, rumble strips, and streetlights. However, delays in constructing resting spots have been attributed to land allocation issues. Additionally, theft of crash barriers and violations of bike restrictions pose significant risks to commuters.
