The trailer of ‘Sex, Likes & Stories’ shows the trio chasing recognition, searching for love online and needing to share a story first. Keith Gomes’ choice of offbeat subjects challenges social reality through this tale of three lives and the average world index we currently live in. The trailer claims to be unique as it highlights the mental health issues caused by social media and body shaming.
Abhishek commented on the nature of the short film, “Social media is fun, but people can become obsessive about it. It’s a trap where you can get validation for all the nonsensical brain activity. Also, if you are smart and know how to. Use the medium, you can really contribute a lot through your content in the form of right information and right guidance, or sometimes just have fun with it. It’s a Good formula.”
Keith immersed himself in this project after his Oscar-eligible ‘Shameless’. He captured the essence of sex, lyrics and stories by shooting on iPhone. shot by ace cinematographer Tapan BasuActors also shot their parts, as did real users talking about quirky roles with a social message.
The director added, “While there are positives, our intention is to have a conversation about the ill-effects of social media. Parents posting pictures of themselves and their children, who then grow up to think it’s okay to do things online. The film will release on Gomes’ YouTube channel on May 25, 2023.
