The TMP, in a memorandum to Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya, said the TTAADC was facing “step-motherly treatment” by the state government.

The Tipra Motha Party (TMP), which is now Tripura’s main opposition party and governs the politically crucial Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), on Friday for the first time threatened action if the BJP government did not release due funds. If so, she will start a movement. And they do not conduct elections in the Gram Sabhas.

In a memorandum submitted to Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya, the TMP said that the TTAADC continues to face step-motherly treatment by the state government.

In the last two years of the current TTAADC authority, it has sent several important bills to the governor for his assent, after they have been passed in council sessions, but are pending approval without any reason.

The memorandum states that out of the total Rs 619.25 crore allocated to TTAADC by the state government for the last financial year (2022-23), Rs 126.59 crore has not yet been released, leading to delay in payment of salaries to employees and Other obstacles are coming. development activities.

For the current financial year (2023-24), only about Rs 4.24 crore has been allocated till date for development works.

The TMP said that the elections to village councils (equivalent to gram panchayats), originally scheduled for March 2021, were also delayed despite clear directions from the Tripura High Court.

It said that the developmental and welfare works in TTAADC areas have been badly affected due to non-holding of village council elections.

When a delegation led by TMP supremo Pradyot Bikram Manikya Deb Burman went to meet the Governor to submit a memorandum, they were not allowed to enter the Raj Bhavan and protested for a while.
