Truck Ploughs Into Group Of Workers, 1 Dies | Gurgaon News – Times of India

Gurgaon: A 19-year-old worker died and his colleague was critically injured after a truck ran over a group that was heading back home after painting a road divider on the Manesar-Pataudi link road on Monday afternoon.
The others in the group were unhurt.
The driver in the truck sped away after hitting the workers from behind.
Rohit (19), who belongs to Etah in UP, and others had finished their shift after painting a road divider on a stretch between IMT Manesar and Pataudi road, and they started walking to their rented accommodation in Wazirpur village.
Police said workers were on their way when the tractor-trolley crashed into them near a petrol pump on the link road at 2.30pm.
Rohit and Mohan (26) were rushed to a private hospital in Sector 90 by the other workers and the contractor. At the facility, doctors declared Rohit dead.
Mohan, who belongs to Jaipur, has injuries on his head and is not in a condition to give a statement, cops said.
Rohit’s brother Sheshveer filed a complaint at the Kherki Daula station on Tuesday. An FIR was subsequently registered under sections 279 (rash driving), 337 (causes hurt to any person by doing any act so rashly or negligently as to endanger human life) and 304A (death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code.
“We have the truck’s registration number and we are talking to its owner to get details about the driver. Investigation is underway and we will arrest the driver soon,” said investigating officer Manju.
