TS Sivagnanam sworn in as Calcutta HC Chief Justice

Acting Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court by Governor CV Anand Bose on 11 May.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was present at the function organized in the court room number one of the Chief Justice of the country’s oldest High Court.

Leader of the Opposition Shubhendu Adhikari, Speaker Biman Banerjee and senior ministers of the state were also present at the function.

The function was also attended by other judges of the High Court, family members of the Chief Justice and members of the Madras High Court Bar Association.

Addressing the gathering after the ceremony, the Chief Justice said that he would leave no stone unturned to ensure the protection of the rights of the people of West Bengal and to uphold democracy and the rule of law.
