Twitter is bringing these two features for videos – Times of India

Twitter, last week, announced that Blue users can now upload videos of up to two hours in duration and up to 8GB on the platform. Company CEO Elon Musk has now announced two new features coming to the microblogging website.
Twitter is getting a seek button
Musk said Twitter would add 15-second forward and back seek buttons during video playback. He was replying to a tweet in which a user asked Twitter boss to add 15 second forward and back seek button.

“Coming next week, with picture in picture, so you can see as you scroll,” Musk said. He added that there will be picture-in-picture mode for users to watch videos so that they can keep scrolling while watching videos.
Picture-in-picture (PiP) mode shrinks a video player into a floating window and usually places it in a corner so that it does not affect the scrolling experience.
Users also took to Twitter to react to the new change, here are some of the tweets.
One user commented, “Thanks. This is exactly the feature I wanted too and thought was missing.”
Another user said, “Thanks, I skip a lot of videos because of this.”
Another user wrote, “All these suggestions are pretty much “make it as good as YouTube” – I wonder how much it would cost to clone YouTube’s features, maybe now it’s cheaper to help code with AI”.
Apart from longer videos, the social networking platform also revealed that it will soon introduce video and voice calling features on the platform. Musk announced that direct message (DMs) are now encrypted for Twitter Blue users. By default, the encryption function is not activated, and users must actively opt-in to use it.
The latest addition to Twitter was promised by Musk last year when he talked about making Twitter an all-in-one app.
