Elon Musk recently said that the platform will release a new update this week.

Micro-blogging platform Twitter is reportedly working to limit the number of direct messages (DMs) that non-Blue users can send per day.

Leaker Alessandro Paluzzi tweeted on Tuesday: “#Twitter is working to limit the number of DMs you can send per day before signing up for @TwitterBlue.”

As per the screenshot shared by the leaker, once the limit is reached, non-Twitter Blue users will receive a message titled “Verify to send more messages”.

“You have exceeded the maximum limit of direct messages in a single day. Sign up for Twitter Blue to continue,” the message reads.

Furthermore, the leaker said that the limit is currently 500 DM per day, but “I bet that limit will go down when it is introduced”.

Twitter-owner Elon Musk said Monday that the platform will “hopefully” roll out a new update this week that will limit the ability to send DMs to people who don’t follow you to Blue users.

Last week, Musk said Twitter would soon start paying creators on the platform for ads placed in their replies.
