Twitter starts rolling out closed caption button on Android and iPhone – Times of India

at the end of last year Twitter Rolled out closed caption support on its platform. In April this year, the microblogging site started testing the closed caption toggle with select iPhone users. Now, the company has finally announced that it is rolling out Caption Toggle for its video player for everyone on iOS and Android.
The Verge reports that the new caption toggle is now available to everyone who is running the latest version of the Twitter app on their Android and iOS smartphones. It’s important to note that this feature has been available on Twitter Web for some time.
As far as the new caption toggle is concerned, if the video has a caption, it automatically appears on the top-right corner. Users can simply tap on the ‘CC’ icon to enable or disable captions for that particular video, as is the case on YouTube.
While this is not a completely new feature, other video platforms have been offering captions for some time and some even offer automatic captions where the platform automatically generates captions, even though the video originally contained the caption. Don’t be
Twitter spokesman Shaoki Amado confirmed to The Verge that the closed caption button appears on Twitter only when someone uploads a video with a caption. It does not support automatic captioning system.
Meanwhile, Twitter recently started testing a new feature that allows users to share notes of up to 2,500 words across the platform. The microblogging site is currently running trials with select users for two months in Canada, Ghana, the UK and the US.
