Mangaluru: An accident, reported near Natekal on Sunday resulted in the tragic death of two persons. According to police, the pillion rider, Nidhi, 29, succumbed to her injuries on the spot, while the rider, Yathish Devadiga, 25, from Bondel, passed away on Monday. According to sources, the duo was returning after attending a relative’s housewarming ceremony.It is alleged that the bike rider lost control, and hit the road divider.
Cattle rescued
Puttur Town police rescued four cattle, that were being transported in a car in an inhuman manner, at Padnadka in Puttur on Sunday. Upon receiving a report that a car carrying cattle had veered off the road and ended up in a drain, police rushed to the spot. Inside the vehicle, four cattle were found tied up. It is suspected that the individuals responsible for transporting the animals fled the scene following the accident.
