Live video of Umesh Pal murder case, miscreants fired several times, captured in CCTV
While senior police officials remained tight-lipped on the fresh CCTV footage that went viral on social media on Wednesday, police sources claimed that the CCTV footage would help police officials compile more evidence and link the chain of events.
Sources said that the first unsuccessful attempt to target Umesh Pal and his two gunners was made on February 21 but could not succeed due to heavy traffic and presence of a police vehicle.
The attackers had obtained detailed information about Pal’s travel route before targeting him. The assailants were well aware of Pal’s daily routine and had been keeping a close watch on Pal’s route and movements since the second week of February.
This CCTV footage of February 21 shows that all the attackers reached Umesh Pal’s residence in no time as soon as Pal’s SUV reached outside his house. However, he could not succeed in his nefarious designs, for which he is best known. In this CCTV footage video, all the four attackers are seen together.
After examination of CCTV footage and post-compilation of the incident, it was established that the assailants had one and only motive to eliminate Umesh Pal. The assailants had formed two teams to assist each other and executed the killing in a well-planned manner,” sources told TOI.
The investigation also revealed that the police had also compiled video footage of the escape route of the assailants and this enabled the police to identify all the five main assailants – Armaan, Assad, Slave, Guddu Muslim and Sabir.

This 2.12-minute video from February 11 purportedly shows nine people including Mohd Asad (son of Atiq), Mohd Ghulam, Guddu Muslim, Vijay Choudhary alias Usman, Sadaqat Khan and others from Bareilly Jail, where Ashraf , who was also killed along with Atiq, was recorded.
They had reportedly entered the premises on the same ID and stayed inside the jail premises for about three hours. The police claimed that the meeting was called to finalize the criminal conspiracy to murder Umesh Pal, a key witness in the 2005 BSP MLA Raju Pal murder case.
