Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Monday announced that her party will not give ticket to Atiq Ahmed’s wife Shaista Parveen in the upcoming mayoral elections in Uttar Pradesh.
He also dismissed speculations that BSP might give ticket to Zainab, wife of Atiq’s brother Arshad.
Talking to reporters, Mayawati said that the decision to allow Shaista to continue in the party will be taken after her arrest.
The BSP president also said that she would prefer that the civic body elections be held through ballot papers.
