Lucknow: In a relief to e-vehicle users, the Yogi Adityanath government has approved the setting up of a web portal to facilitate applications and claim subsidy on such vehicles.

“Portal upevsubsidy.in. Will be operational in a few days. EV owners will have to apply on the portal by October 13, 2023,” said an official statement quoting Principal Secretary Transport Venkateswara Lu.
Officials told that under UP EV manufacturing and mobility policy Permission has been granted with conditions for the implementation of the 2022 Purchase Grant Incentive Scheme.
Under this, the date of notification of the scheme will be effective from 14 October 2022 to 13 October 2023.
Along with this, the distribution of subsidy in each vehicle category will be done according to the arrangement contained in the policy.
According to this, 15 percent subsidy will be given on the factory price of EV purchased in the state.
A subsidy of Rs 5,000 each will be provided on the first two lakh two-wheeler EVs. Similarly, the first 25,000 four wheelers will get a subsidy of up to Rs 1 lakh per vehicle.
The initial 400 e-buses (non-government) purchased in the state will get a subsidy of up to Rs 20 lakh per vehicle. Up to 10% of the factory cost will be allowed on e-cargo.
A subsidy of up to Rs 1 lakh per vehicle will be available on the purchase of the first 1000 e-goods carriers.
For individual buyers, the subsidy will be admissible on only one EV, while for aggregators, fleet operators, the limit is a maximum of 10 two-wheelers or four-wheelers and five e-buses or e-goods carriers, the statement said.
The subsidy will be admissible only once to any buyer and will be provided in the form of reimbursement which will be directly transferred to their bank account after verification. If the vehicle is purchased without battery, only 50% of the admissible subsidy will be provided.
