Lucknow: In the revered Naimish Dham or Naimisharanya Sitapur is ready for a makeover, for which the state cabinet has given its nod for installation on Friday Shri Naimisharanya Teerth Development Council,
The religious site will be developed on the lines of Varanasi, Ayodhya, Mathura-Vrindavan and Maa Vindhyavasini Dham and the council will be responsible for planning and implementation of the project.
State Urban Development Minister AK Sharma said the official notification for the council would be issued soon. A government spokesperson said, “The objective of setting up a council for Naimisharanya is to develop infrastructure to promote culture and tourism, especially religious and spiritual tourism. Integrated development of the religious site as well as the entire region.” Will be done.” Presently, there are 36 villages under Naimisharanya with a total area of ​​8,511 hectares. It includes 11 destinations associated with the religious place.
Of these 11 sites, four are in Hardoi and seven in Sitapur district. The complete circuit is 209 miles long or 84 kos. A total of 36 villages will be brought under the Development Council.
The spokesperson said that the council is seen as a corporate body. It will be headed by the Chief Minister while the Tourism Minister will be the Vice-Chairman. The CM will also appoint the executive vice-chairman of the council.
Its other members include Principal Secretary of Tourism, Housing and Town Planning, Finance, Culture, Charitable Work, Urban Development, Transport, Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Public Works Department, Divisional Commissioner and District Magistrate of Sitapur, Chief Town and Country Planner and Naimisharanya.
