“This project was proposed by the tourism department with an estimated budget in 2020 Rs 100 croreBut after a probe, the state government approved a budget of Rs 72.63 crore for it,” Divisional Commissioner Deepak Agarwal said while talking to TOI on Saturday.
“This project of the tourism department is being monitored by the Varanasi Development Authority, which has also been authorized to release funds to the construction company,” he said, adding that the work on the project is being done before formally laying its foundation.
