Varun Dhawan: I’m nervous to do a cricketer’s biopic – Exclusive | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Varun Dhawan has cemented his position as one of the formidable actors in the industry with his performance in films like Student of the Year, October, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badlapur, Bhediya etc. He is soon going to be the first actor of his generation to move to OTT space with Citadel by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK.
In an exclusive conversation with ETimes, Varun revealed where he sees himself in the industry where he will complete 11 years in the next few days.His debut film Student of the Year released on 19th October 2012. He shared that over the years, there has been a big change in him. “I have actually stopped thinking about the rat race. I’m very happy where I am. It is not that I don’t have aspirations, I have major aspirations and inspirations to reach somewhere but I’ve realised that I want to keep them to myself, till I have achieved them,” he said.

With the cricket fever catching up with everyone including Varun, we asked him if he would be game to do a biopic of a cricketer. There are talks going around in the industry about a cricketer’s biopic in the making. “I’m very nervous to do a biopic of a cricketer. I love the game so much, I don’t want to get it right only synthetically. If I do then I will need to give it 3-4 years and only do that,” Varun said.
He also added that MS Dhoni: The Untold Story is one biopic that was done right. “I think it was one of the best biopics made and the way Sushant (Singh Rajput) played the role was really great,” he said.
Up next, Varun is going to be seen with Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi in hix next untitled film which for now is referred as VD 18. It is backed by Murad Khetani and Atlee and is directed by Kalees.
