Vehicle crashes into White House gate, driver taken into custody – Times of India

NEW DELHI: A vehicle on Monday collided into an exterior gate of the White House complex, the US Secret Service said.
While the driver has been taken into custody, it is not yet clear whether it was a traffic accident or intentional attack. Washington police
President Joe Biden was out of town at the time of the incident, which took place around 6pm.
Anthony Guglielmi, US Secret Service spokesman, said that an investigation into the ’cause and manner’ of the incident is under way.
The crash resulted in traffic delays at 15th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, reports stated.
Notably, last month, a Delaware man faced charges of drunk driving after accidentally crashing into Biden’s motorcade.
In 2017, a man who scaled a White House fence traipsed the grounds for more than 16 minutes before he was arrested while former President Donald Trump was inside.
The US Secret Service said that “there was no protective interest associated with this event”.
