Actress Mathura, who recently shared screen space with Vijay Sethupathi in the film Yaadhum Ore Yavarum Kelir, shared that she was born to a German father and a Sri Lankan Jaffna Tamil mother.

During a recent conversation, he was asked about his journey from Mathura to be a part of Yaadum Ore Yavarum Kelir. Talking on the subject, the actress revealed that she was born in Berlin to a German father and a Sri Lankan Jaffna Tamil mother. Mathura further said that he started practicing law after completing his law degree in Germany.

The film chronicles the journey of Kirubanadhi aka Puneethan (Vijay Sethupathi), who visits Father Xavier’s Church with UK-based musician Jesse (Mathura). Originally believed to be a member of Jessie’s band, Puneethan becomes unrelated to him. This revelation shocked Father Xavier.

Later, Jesse also denied having any relation with Puneethan. Next, Puneethan narrates his tragic story as a Sri Lankan Tamil orphan who is raised by a church priest after his parents pass away during an ethnic cleansing. While the priest wants to send her to the UK to study music, his plans are put on hold after the Sri Lankan army attacks and Puneethan is imprisoned. Unaware of Pujari’s passing, Puneethan is still waiting for his release.
