Aditya Gadhvi’s Khalasi has gone viral and netizens can’t even enough of it.

Gujarati track ‘Khalasi,’ sung by Aditya Gadhvi, has become a viral sensation among audiences not just for its music but also inspiring many cover versions and dance performances shared across social media platforms. Released by Coke Studio India in July this year, the song’s popularity mirrors that of the 2021 hit ‘Pasoori’ from Coke Studio Pakistan.

The official description of the song goes like this: “Khalasi tells the tale of the limitless sailor who has set out to explore through the shores of Gujarat. The song speaks of his tenuous voyage, his experiences and his enthusiasm with which he takes on life while he is sailing away.” Crafted by Achint Thakkar, known for Scam 1992, the track also showcases the skills of solo percussive acoustic guitarist Dhruv Visvanath.

Norwegian dance group Quick Style, famous for their viral ‘Kala Chashma’ video from last year, has once more dazzled their online fans with a remarkable performance set to ‘Khalasi.’ Posting the video, they captioned it, “Dancing to Khalasi by Coke Studio Bharat No better way of announcing the start of a new journey with Coca Cola India than with a song about a sailor’s adventurous journey, which reminds us of our own.” Check out the video here:

After receiving two years of musical training from Ustad Shoukat Hussain Khan, singer Aditya participated in the reality singing competition and clinched the winner’s title through audience votes.

Aditya was also a part of AR Rahman’s KM Music Conservatory (KMMC) in Chennai. Opening up on that journey, the singer had earlier said in an interview with Behind Woods, “I am in the Sufi Qawali ensemble in KMMC so last year we went to Dubai for a show and Rahman sir was present so he heard my voice there and then called me to sing a few lines for Lekar Hum Deewana Dil. I got a call from his studio at 12 am midnight! He wasn’t even in Chennai, but he guided me over Skype from Mumbai.”
