Spider-Man fans in India are no stranger to the Bhojpuri song ‘Spider-Man, Spider-Man, Tune Churaya Mere Dil Ka Chain’.

When one says Spider-Man in India, two things come to mind – the Marvel superhero and the viral song, ‘Spider-Man, Spider-Man, tune churaya mere dil ka chain.’ The Bhojpuri song, a spoof of superheroes, dropped years ago and is still popular today. So, the first chance News18 got, we asked the team at Sony Pictures India if they would ever consider featuring the song in the Indian dubbed versions of Spider-Man. His answer was surprising.

Responding to our query at the press conference for the Hindi and Punjabi trailer launch of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Sony Pictures Releasing International (SPRI) India General Manager and Head Shoni Panjikaran said, “To be honest, we have been Thought about it many times over the years. But how do you make a spoof? I think that’s the million dollar question (laughs).”

However, sharing his personal opinion, Shoni said that the homegrown Spider-Man team can approach the song the way Spider-Man approached the viral Spider-Man pointing meme. The first trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse revealed that he approved of the viral meme in the movie. Referring to this as an example, Shoni said, “Who knows, maybe in the future, we have a Pavitra Prabhakar and we may have someone associated with Pavitra Prabhakar and a stotra for the spoof of the song Maybe. Just wait and see.” It would be hilarious to see this happen!

Meanwhile, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is set to release in India in 10 languages. The trailers have revealed so far that Gwen offers Stacy Miles a way out of his boring world. They travel through the multiverse and Gwen introduces him to an elite group consisting of the best Spider-people. Fascinated at first, Miles slowly learns that he must choose between saving one person and saving universes that are collapsing. But he believes he can do both. This puts her in a tough spot and ends up on the wrong side of the elite group. Will he be able to prove his point? We will only know on June 1, 2023.

Apart from giving us a glimpse of the film, the trailer also shows off Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Doctor Strange (played by Benedict Cumberbatch). The trailer also features Indian Spider-Man, Pavitra Prabhakar.
