Parking vehicles in no-parking areas may now prove costly, as violators will now have to pay heavy fines. They will also have to get their vehicles back from the police, as the city traffic police will start removing those vehicles which create hindrance for other commuters.

Police Commissioner CM Trivikram Verma on Tuesday said that from now on they have decided to remove vehicles parked in no-parking areas.

“Please park the vehicles in the allotted parking spaces and elsewhere without disturbing the traffic flow. Some people could be seen parking in front of apartments and commercial establishments blocking the road. Those vehicles will be towed. The police will charge a no-parking fee which can range from around ₹1,500 to ₹2,000 and also collect tax from the traffic violator,” said Mr. Trivikram Verma.

He appealed to the people to check and pay the e-challans at the earliest, if they are pending against them. He said that on an average the city police were booking at least 1,500 e-challans.
