Vivek Agnihotri calls Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Jawan ‘very superficial’; says the actor can do far better than that | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Vivek Agnihotri, who is currently busy promoting his latest film, ‘The Vaccine War‘, recently opened up about what he feels about Shah Rukh Khan as an actor and his latest releases, ‘Pathaan‘ and ‘Jawan‘.
Speaking about the same, Vivek told Siddharth Kanan in an interview that he watched Shah Rukh’s latest releases and he found them very superficial. According to the filmmaker, he can do far better than that.

Elaborating further, Agnihotri added that they are okay at the level of an action film but to present them as a standard of filmmaking and that this is the end of show business, he doesn’t agree with that.

The director thinks it’s a sycophancy and he has a problem with that.

Earlier, when a fan asked Vivek to have a box-office clash with one of the SRK starrer, the director said, “We aren’t in the Bollywood game and terms like ‘clash’ etc. are for stars and media. I can guarantee SRK’s Jawan will be an all-time blockbuster. But after seeing it please also see our small film about India’s greatest victory in a war you know nothing about. #TheVaccineWar.”
In another interview with Mid-Day, Vivek said that his films are non-Bollywood and he considers ‘The Vaccine War’ as his most complete feature film. He added that whoever has seen it, said the film is a complete package of emotions. According to him, they have done 20 screenings of the film before its theatrical release and every person said it will make the audience feel proud of the women around them. The filmmaker believes that a film has to stimulate emotions and intelligence. However, he also clarified that he is not saying that he is a complete filmmaker; he is still a student and still learning.
‘The Vaccine War’ stars Nana Patekar, Sapthami Gowda, Pallavi Joshi, Raima Sen, Anupam Kher and others.
