Coimbatore: Voting was held on Saturday for the election of ward councilors of three gram panchayats and the number 10 panchayat president. Muthuri In the Gram Panchayat of Kinathukdavu block, 74.81 percent voter turnout was recorded.
Elections for the selection of councilors perur chettipalayam Ward 1 K vadakkipalayam Ward 2, kurunellipalayam Village President of Ward 4 and No.10 Muthur village.
R Annakodi from Ward 1 in Sokkanoor in Kinathukadavu, P Suresh from Ward 4 in Nallattipalayam in Kinathukadavu, V Murugan from Ward 2 in Singanallur Pollachi South and K Praveen Kumar was elected unopposed from Ward 2 of Vazhakombungur in Annamalai Taluk.
Number 10 Muthur recorded 1,679 out of 2,043 votes. In Kurunellipalayam, 233 out of 272 votes were cast, 316 out of 391 in Vadakkipalayam and 689 out of 1,193 in Perur Chettipalayam.
Voting took place between 7 am and 5 pm. A slot was allotted to the Covid-19 patients between 5 pm and 6 pm. An official said the polling took place without incident. news network
