The world of statistics recently published a list of companies by number of employees, which is garnering a lot of attention. According to the report, Walmart employs the maximum number of people worldwide. Walmart has given employment to 23 lakh people. Five of the top 10 employers worldwide have US companies. An Indian company is included in the list of world’s top 10 employers. So let’s know about the 10 companies with the largest number of employees in the world.

According to the list, Walmart is followed by Amazon, Foxconn, Accenture, Volkswagen, Tata Consultancy, Deutsche Post, United Parcel Service, Kroger and Home Depot.

Seeing the post, one user jokingly commented, “Walmart can start its own country”, and another said, “Walmart has too many workers.” Another user wrote that it would be interesting to see revenue and expenditure per employee on a PPP (purchasing power parity) adjusted basis. “It will be an eye opener!”

The second place in this list is the American e-commerce company Amazon. A total of 1,541,000 (15.41 lakh) employees are employed here. Taiwan’s multinational electronics contract manufacturer Foxconn employs 826,608 (8.26 lakh). It has got the third place in the list. While the software sector giant Accenture is at the fourth position in this list. It has given employment to 738,000 (7.38 lakh) people.

The report of World of Statistics further states that German car manufacturer Volkswagen is at number five in this list. The company employs 645,868 (6.45 lakh) employees. India’s largest information technology company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is at the sixth position, employing 6.16 lakh people. It is followed by Deutsche Post, which has 583,816 employees; United Parcel Service: 500,000 employees; Kroger, with 500,000 employees; and Home Depot, which ranks tenth with 500,000 employees.

Apart from this, Indian companies like Infosys and Reliance Industries have been included in the list. Infosys ranked 35th with 346,845 employees and Reliance Industries ranked 74th with 236,334 employees.
