Watch: Bride hides iconic painting in her mehndi instead of groom’s name

Weddings in India are nothing less than a festival, with each ceremony giving great importance to the traditions that people have been following for centuries. One such tradition is that brides hide the name of their groom in their Mehndi. However, breaking the stereotype, a modern bride adds a meaningful dimension to her mehendi ceremony by adding an artistic twist. Instead of adding her husband’s name, the bride, Anjali Tapadia chose a series of iconic pictures to hide in her mehndi. She took to Instagram to share a reel video showing off her mehendi, which showcased actual paintings of the stellar artists and their drawings on their hands.

Special mehendi included Vincent van Gogh’s iconic The Starry Night, The Great Wave of Kanagawa by Hokusai, Femme au Collier Jaune by Pablo Picasso and The Kiss by Gustav Klimt. While sharing the reel video, Anjali Tapadia told that her husband Akash Tandon accurately identified all the particular paintings. She shared that her “love is stronger with this”.

The bride told how marriages can give a big worry. While the bride tried her best to keep the ceremony under control, things went wrong and failed amidst the pressure of organizing a big fat wedding in front of the guests. Anjali shared that she chose to include pictures in her mehndi as a healing mechanism to keep her calm at all times. In doing so, this twist enabled him to add a customized touch of himself to the special ceremony, making it all the more meaningful.

She elaborated, “Marriages can be anxiety-inducing. Especially if things are not under your control and are being created by families. It is part of the many little things I do to calm myself down and add a touch of Anjali to each and every function.” Take a look at the viral video below:

The reel went viral shortly after it surfaced online. With over 45k likes, her special touch has received huge appreciation from the netizens. While many supported her decision to add a creative touch, others inquired about the mehendi artist. Compliments like ‘beautiful’, ‘creative’, and emoticons of fire and heart flooded the comment section of her post.
