WATCH | Mamata Banerjee kickstarts TMC’s Lok Sabha campaign in Kolkata

TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched her party’s Lok Sabha campaign at the Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata today. In a video shared by news agency ANI, Banerjee was seen walking and waving to her supporters as loud pro-TMC music played in the background.

According to a report by PTI, TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee will announce the party’s candidates for all 42 seats in the state from the mega rally at Kolkata’s Brigade Parade Ground. The event will mark the first time that the regional party will announce its candidate list from a mega public meeting.

“All India Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee will announce the party’s candidates for the 42 parliamentary constituencies in West Bengal,” a TMC statement quoted by PTI read.

According to an earlier LiveMint report, apart from the 42 Lok Sabha candidates for West Bengal, TMC may also announce two candidates from Lok Sabha and one each from Meghalaya and UP.

In the last Lok Sabha election held in 2019, TMC had won 22 of the 42 seats in the state while Bhartiya Janta Party had napped 18 seats and the Congress could only manage to win 2 seats.
