In a viral video, a man can be seen enjoying a sandwich in the middle of the road while rioters and police clash Violence continues in Nanterre, France. The video posted on Twitter by RapleakTwsh has been viewed over 1.5 million times. The caption reads, “She really doesn’t have any problems in her life #Nantere.”
Paris’s Nanterre has been witnessing violent protests by citizens since Wednesday after a 17-year-old boy was killed by police after being stopped at a traffic stop for breaking several road rules.

The clip, shot from the top of a building, shows one such confrontation between security forces and protesters. On the left, a group of protesters throw objects at a group of armed police standing on the right, while a fire breaks out between the two sides. In the middle of the scene, a man is seen leisurely sitting on the side of the road, unfazed by the confrontation, calmly eating a sandwich.
The viral video drew several comments from Twitter users appreciating the man’s Zen-like calmness amid the violence. “She’s seen a lot,” said one Twitter user.

Around 40,000 security personnel have been deployed in several French cities with curfews and bans on public gatherings as violent protesters continue to torch vehicles, damage property and loot shops.
