‘We aren’t giving money for free’: Rahul Gandhi shares suggestions received on manifesto | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Congress on Thursday tweeted a video featuring Rahul Gandhi talking about suggestions sent by the public on Congress manifesto. The suggestions were sent through Lakhs of comments and thousands of emails on different platforms. He said,” We have received different types of positive responses through the audience.”
Rahul Gandhi in the video was seen responding to both serious and funny emails.
On Agniveer
Talking about Agniveer Rahul Gandhi claimed that he received many emails concerning the Agniveer scheme which was implemented by the centre. He said,”Many people liked the decision of us scrapping Agniveer.”
On Taxes
Rahul Gandhi read out an email sent by Madhuri Rai concerning taxes and banks, for further discussion, Gandhi called Rai to discuss further about her concerns.
When the caller asked him who she was speaking to, Rahul cheekily responded, “They call me Rahul Gandhi.”
Rai said,”We need to address taxes, banking practices, and the high cost of education, which are all significant challenges for the average person.”
Rahul agreed with the concerns and later on invited her son to a zoom meeting after learning that he was an AI enthusiast. Rahul invited him to attend a meeting related to Artificial intelligence.

On Rs 1 lakh per year for youth
Addressing a question raised by a mailer concerning freebies of Rs 1 Lakh introduced by Congress in the manifesto he said,”We are not giving money for free, we are introducing a law for apprenticeship ‘Apprenticeship guarantee, apprenticeship haq’. Every youth will be able to receive a chance to do this apprenticeship under which the individual will have to work for one year after which he/she will receive Rs 1 Lakh.”
He further added, “This is a kind of in house training or skill building apprenticeship.”
On millionaires
Commenting on the policy being compared to freebies, Rahul Gandhi said, “No one talks about freebies when loans of big millionaires are waived off as economic growth is given as reason behind such decisions. Therefore, when farmers’ loans are waived off one needs to look at it with the same logic rather than creating two scenarios”.
On MSP
Talking about MSP Rahul Gandhi said,”We haven’t gotten into the legal part of it, but we have promised it to the farmers this is a historic decision by us.”
On youth employment
Referring to youth unemployment Rahul added,”Job creation in the public sector is another important point. We have promised 30 Lakhs jobs, in the manifesto along with this we have also thought of supporting small and medium industries for jobs creation.
Gandhi ended his video hitting at BJP for unemployment and how there has been a huge gap between the rich and poor in recent years. (sic)
